Who is Harness?

In 2016, the traditional media landscape wasn’t writing or talking about the real, raw and authentic stories women were actually experiencing on a day-to-day basis. Ashley Rector, a full-time attorney, saw this gap and wanted to create a space to foster empowerment and connection. She believed that women would be inspired in all areas of our lives by sharing the stories that shaped us to be who we are today. It was out of this passion for storytelling that Harness was born.

Harness has evolved over the years to become an all-encompassing community.

We publish digital content on a daily basis and a magazine four times a year. In addition, we’ve opened up the Harness Talent Network, a way to connect our writers to companies looking to hire. And when we say you belong, we mean it. We believe that every voice matters. Harness is for women from all races, backgrounds, shapes, sizes, ages (18+) and countries, and we welcome the LGBTQ+ community with open arms.
